FUNDRAISING

NOD uses fundraisers to cover its minimal administrative costs, so that every penny donated to general or earmarked funds is distributed to those in need of financial assistance.

NOD’s primary annual fundraising activity was the Dubois High Country Cowboy Gathering which occurred in August of each year. Prior to 2010 the event has consisted of an evening of cowboy poets, a chuckwagon dinner, silent and live auctions, and a vendor area. In 2010 and 2011, NOD and another Dubois non-profit organization, the Chance Phelps Foundation, teamed up to bring a weekend of events in Dubois Town Park, including headline concerts, pig wrestling, vendor booths, chain saw carving with a live auction.

NOD continues to work collaboratively with other local non-profit organizations to hold community-based fundraising events, generally held in Dubois' off-season, to strengthen the community while fulfilling our mission. Currently, NOD co-hosts the annual Soupenanny! with the Headwaters Arts and Conference Center and Kiwanis of Dubois.  NOD partners with St. Thomas Episcopal Church for the July 4th Ice Cream Social, held after the parade.  Every few years NOD hosts a Donkey Basketball tournament for a hilarious evening of entertainment.  Cookbooks are available at various businesses throughout the Dubois community.
